As-Salaamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatulahi wa Baarakatuhu!

Due to the recent COVID-19 Updated Phase 2 Guidelines released by the Prince George’s County Government requiring all Houses of Worship to maintain capacity to 50%, Avondale Islamic Center is making changes to daily salaat and Jumu’ah capacities until further notice.

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. THIS IS FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY:

The masjid is ONLY open to those who are BETWEEN 15 – 60 years of age because of health guidelines. 

​

• Individual prayer spots have been created to comply with the county’s 50% capacity and 6 feet spacing.

• The spots have been marked for individual use only.  

• We ask that no changes be made to these markings. Don’t remove. 

• The spots are available on a “First Come, First Served” basis per salaat.

• We will continue to hold just one (1) Jumu’ah salaat for now In Shaa Allah Ta'ala. 

• The Khutbah begins at 01:30 PM EST. 

• Please, continue to make wudu at home. Bathrooms will not be available. 

• Bring your own prayer mats and have a facemask on for yours and others’ safety at all time.

• All seniors aged 60 and above are implored to continue to stay and pray at home - All children aged 14 and under are requested to stay and pray at home.

• Anyone with underlying health conditions (regardless of age) should please stay and pray at home.

• If you currently have any flu like symptoms, stay at home. 

• Please go home after each salaat. Do not stay around the Masjid, let’s give our salaams over the phone if possible In Shaa Allah.

• Volunteers will be outside the masjid doors to ensure compliance In Shaa Allah Ta'ala. 

 

 

We ask for Allah’ (Subhaana wa Ta'ala) mercy and forgiveness during these trying times and pray this disease leaves soon, so we can all go back to our beautiful community interactions and brotherhood. Aameen yaa Rabb!!!
